Bible translation is one of the most quietly transformative works happening in the world today — it's the slow, patient labor of putting Scripture into the hands of people who have never had it in their own language, in their own words. Eddie Smith has spent the last several years training as a Bible translation consultant. He and his wife Jen, and their family, now work alongside local teams in Western Asia to ensure that translations are not only accurate to the original Hebrew and Greek, but also readable and beautiful in the language of the people receiving them. This is precision work in service of something eternal: the difference between a translation that merely conveys information and one that lets a people group encounter the wonder of Jesus in words that feel like their own.

We have a rare opportunity to hear directly from someone doing this work on the ground — not a report from a distance, but a firsthand account of what it looks like to live among people with little to no access to the gospel, to learn a language and culture from the inside out, and to give years of your life toward a self-sustaining local church and theological education. Eddie and Jen will be joining us in person to share stories from the field, the joys and challenges of this calling, and how our church community can partner in this work through prayer, encouragement, and support. Come hear how God is at work in one of the least-reached corners of the world, and how you might be part of that story.
