Having been raised in Colorado, Pastor Andrew shares a special affinity for the mountain life and culture. He and his family have regularly enjoyed snowboarding, hiking, hunting, and camping. Along with having a special interest in and devotion to the ministry of the gospel, Andrew also grew up with a love for sports. He was an accomplished soccer player in the state of Colorado who had exposure at the club, college, amateur, semi-pro, and pro levels. His love for both sports and church ministry allowed him to spend several years of his life as a youth pastor while playing and traveling on various soccer teams. Prior to transitioning to Leadville, he spent 6 years working through further seminary studies, while at the same time coaching the men’s soccer team at Northland International University in Dunbar, Wisconsin.
Although relatively young, Andrew has been blessed with several years of ministry experience. Having grown up in a pastor’s home, he was continually exposed to the challenges and blessing of local church ministry. In his early years, Andrew was impacted with the reality of his spiritual need, the amazing gift of spiritual life through Christ’s sacrifice, and the necessity of a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. Andrew came to the realization that his relationship with God was only by grace and must be personal—not based on his connection with parents, family, friends, or even the church. During his college years, Andrew spent several years assisting various youth groups in Wisconsin and Colorado. After graduating with a degree in Biblical Studies, Andrew ministered for 6 years as a youth pastor at Woodside Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado. Subsequent to his years as a youth pastor in Colorado, Andrew and his family moved to Wisconsin where Andrew spent 6 years working on the faculty and coaching staff at Northland International University, working through both Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry seminary degrees, and ministering as a pastor/elder at Faith Baptist Church in Pembine, Wisconsin.
Andrew’s wife, Hannah, also finds a special excitement in church and community ministry. She is a committed mother who enjoys teaching her children the ways of the Lord. She is a gifted harpist and pianist who loves any opportunity to participate in the music of the church and community. Having a background as a college soccer player, she also appreciates the ability to participate in athletics and various mountain activities.
Andrew and Hannah and their young family (Kara, Selah, David, and Eva) are thrilled to be part of both First Baptist Church and the Lake County community. They are excited about seeing the church established on a gospel-centered, glory-directed, Word-saturated, Spirit-driven, service-oriented foundation—and look forward to any way they can possibly serve YOU.
